Staff

Congratulations to Ewan Curtis!

Congratulations to Ewan Curtis of Liberty Christian School, who has been named the TAPPS 6A Male Athlete of the Year for 2024-2025!

His dominance in both the 110m and 300m hurdles, as well as his role in the sprint relay, were instrumental in Liberty’s TAPPS 6A State Runner-Up finish this year, said track and field head coach Antonio Griffin.

Ewan set records on seven different occasions during his 2025 season between the Texas Relays, TAPPS State, and for Liberty Christian as a school.

He topped off his season with state championship wins in the 110m hurdles (13.48 seconds is a TAPPS State record and was the second fastest time in the nation at the time) and the 300m hurdles (36.17 seconds is a TAPPS State record and was the third fastest time in the nation at the time).

Ewan signed a National Letter of Intent with Baylor.

“He represents everything you could ask for as a coach,” said Griffin. “Elite talent paired with elite character. His work ethic, leadership, and unrelenting drive to compete at the highest level set the tone for our entire program.

“There was always a buzz when you knew Ewan Curtis was competing. What he accomplished this year was special, but more importantly, how he carried himself throughout the journey is what makes him one of the best to ever wear the Liberty uniform.

“I am blessed to have the opportunity to see him work and accomplish all the things he’s worked so hard for.”

Congratulations, Ewan!
