Outreach and Service

Students have the opportunity to share the gospel on annual mission trips and to serve in and around the DFW area during Week Without Walls. Students consistently describe these traditions as transformational and unforgettable.

In partnership with our families and their churches, Liberty Christian educates and motivates students to do the following:

  • Recognize God as their ultimate source of truth

  • Stand firm in their faith

  • Embrace their identity in Christ

  • Build community by valuing others above themselves

  • Serve others locally and globally

Two areas where these are accomplished are through the annual Spring Break Mission Trip and Week Without Walls.

Service Opportunities, like the Spring Break Mission Trip

Mission Trip 2025

God has called us to serve our world around us locally and globally. For more than 20 years, Liberty Christian has take overseas trips to places like Panama, Guatemala, Uganda, Ireland, Honduras, and Jamaica, among many others.

These mission trips are usually comprised of more than 100 students and staff members who travel to serve for a week during the second semester.

The group shares the gospel through service projects, and students get to share the story of Jesus through an evangelistic drama in a partnership with Real Impact Missions.

Liberty also takes local trips around our community to honor God and challenge our students to grow spiritually as they fulfill God's call to serve.

Students in Kindergarten-5th grade have opportunities to participate in a local mission field trips each year. Examples include singing at Discovery Village Senior Living, supporting Teresa's House and Rwanda Children, and serving different staff on campus.

I saw community when we went to a local church in the Dominican and worshipped alongside them. We recognized English songs and sang in unity to those singing in Spanish. It hit me that we, as Christians, are all one body and we all worship God the same.

Week Without Walls for Middle and Upper School

Week Without Walls allows all Middle and Upper School students to engage in experiential learning outside of the traditional classroom setting, with an emphasis on hands-on activities, unique outdoor experiences, service, discipleship, and week-long local and abroad travel opportunities for Upper School students.

The goal of this program, which began in the Spring of 2023, is to inspire, as our school vision states, interest and excitement towards a career path, develop a lifelong heart for serving others, leadership development, and spiritual formation that will ultimately lead to our students better prepared to engage in the world around them and make an impact for Christ.

Examples of Week Without Walls experiences include:

  • Educational travel to England, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, among others.
  • Building houses in Costa Rica with Joshua Expeditions.
  • Working with local missionaries in St. Lucia and building improvements at a local Primary school.
  • Local service projects with Serve DFW, which works with organizations such as Community Storehouse, GRACE, Mission Arlington, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Meals on Wheels, and many more.
  • Parent-led college tours.
  • Weeklong internships with companies around the DFW area, such as Gina Mullen Realty, the City of Denton, GDS Wealth Management, and many more.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned was how to put others before myself and serve the people of DFW. It was a humbling experience to see the impact we could make as a group, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive difference in my community.
