The Liberty Sports Performance philosophy is to safely teach young men and women to follow Jesus through the development of character, discipline and superior athletic performance.
David has served as the Director of Sports Performance at Liberty Christian since 2017. He lives in Denton with his wife, Ally, and three sons Dallas, Landry, and Walker. He graduated from Texas Tech in 2010 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise & Sports Sciences, then again in 2012 with his Master’s in the same field. David was a four-year letterman in football under Mike Leach and Tommy Tuberville during that time.

After his playing career finished, he began his coaching career at Texas Tech where he served as a strength and conditioning assistant coach for Tommy Tuberville. He spent the next five years working as a collegiate strength coach with stops at Cincinnati and the University of Texas before coming to Liberty in 2017. During that time, he would work with not only college football athletes, but soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, swimming, and golf athletes as well.

Favorite verse, Philippians 3:12-14: "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Post-Workout Shakes

Liberty athletes may choose to purchase the post workout shake program that provides a great tasting, refrigerated protein shake after every training session. Shakes come in two options: weight gain and low carb recovery. The program is coordinated by LCS Director of Sports Performance David Neill.

We will begin our spring post workout Gatorade shake program Tuesday, Jan. 16. Athletes who sign up will receive a post workout protein shake after every training session or practice (limit once per day). Athletes may stop by Coach Neill's office to sign next to their name and grab their shake for the day. The price includes five shakes per week for 18 weeks.

We have two options Gatorade Recover Protein Shake and Muscle Milk Genuine Protein Shake. The Gatorade shake has a higher carbohydrate content for help with weight gain and recovery. The Muscle Milk shake has lower carbs for athletes who may be on a weight management plan.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Coach Neill.
