Golf Team Qualifies for State, Ready for the Challenge

Golfers took fourth place at the regional tournament on April 9–10 at the Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson in a close match against some of the best teams in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

With their sights now on taking state, they will travel to the TAPPS state championship at the Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen on April 24–25.

Coach Larry Frank said that weather played a factor at regionals.

“The winds were 30 miles an hour most of the day, which made the playing conditions somewhat difficult,” he said.

Congratulations to the starting five players who qualified the team for state: Jacob Taylor, Hunter Bacci, Camron Reddell, Andrew Gibson, and Luke Foster. Congratulations also the medalist players in the tournament: Christian Goodrum, Garrett White, and Jackson Hagen.

Coach Frank added, “Jacob Taylor and Camron Reddell were also named All-Regional after finishing in the top 15 in the boys division.”

At regionals, Trinity Christian Academy in Addison won first, John Paul in Plano earned second, and Bishop Lynch in Dallas took third. Trailing behind Liberty’s fourth place finish included Cathedral High School in El Paso, Nolan Catholic in Fort Worth, Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Parish Episcopal in Dallas, and Bishop Dunne in Dallas.
