Ministry Fair Connects Middle and Upper School Students with Area Churches and Ministries Organizations

Spirtual Life Department's first Ministry Fair showcases local churches and ministries.
Junior Ariana Naeimi described Liberty’s first Ministry Fair as “a real blessing for any students looking to get more plugged into their faith.”

Representatives from 23 local churches and 16 area ministry organizations were on campus Tuesday, Jan. 31 during the Middle and Upper School activity periods for a chance to engage Liberty students in their congregations or service opportunities.

Sponsored by the Spiritual Life Department, the purpose of the Ministry Fair was two-fold--offer local ministers and service providers a unique opportunity to fellowship together and give them to share their churches and ministries with our students.

Sam Dow, Liberty’s Preschool and Lower School Pastor, said the excitement at the event was powerful.

“This event was important because discipleship is a 24/7 responsibility,” he said. “The more Christ-like influences and role models that a student has in their life, the more likely they are to pursue an authentic, Godly life after they graduate.”

Austin Crosby, associate student pastor at Rockpointe Church in Flower Mound said their student ministry staff was excited to be asked to intentionally partner with Liberty through the Ministry Fair.

“Rarely do we have the opportunity to showcase our programs to a captive audience like this,” he said. “If we can reach even one more student who feels called to worship and fellowship with us, then it’s a great day.”

One Upper School student, who asked not to be identified said she has been wanting to consider changing churches, so that she could find a community that better matched what she wants to learn and how she wants to grow in her walk with Christ. She said this event made it easier for her to explore her options without driving all over town.

“God has been nudging me for a while,” she said. “This is the push I needed. I even got to talk to other Liberty students who go youth group, so I know that if I try out something new, I will have friends there.”
