The Liberty Christian Solar Car Team was thankful for the summer weather...it was perfect for a cross-country race to California! Solis Bellator and 23 other student-designed and built, solar-powered vehicles enjoyed the race.

The 2018 race traveled from DFW to Palmdale, CA (1 hr north of LA).
Tuesday, July 17, 2018: The green flag to start the Race to Palmdale, CA, waved at 9:00 am. Teams began the race from Northwest High School.
July 17, Day 1 – Northwest High School to Snyder, TX
July 18, Day 2 – Snyder, TX to Carlsbad, NM
July 19, Day 3 – Carlsbad, NM to El Paso, TX
July 20, Day 4 – Rest day in El Paso
July 21, Day 5 – El Paso to Tempe, AZ by way of Tucson (lots of trailering)
July 22, Day 6 – Tempe, AZ to 29 Palms, CA (trailer through Phoenix)
July 23, Day 7 – 29 Palms to Palmdale, CA the finish line
The 2018 race ran with a Lithium Ion Iron Phosphate battery (LiPO4) 224 – 18650 cells = 100 volt battery pack
