Second grade students participate in Camping Day each spring, where they make constellation maps, eat s'mores, and even spend the morning reading campfire stories in a tent outside! Students dress up in their camping gear on this day as they culminate a math unit on camping by experiencing it firsthand!
Second grade students learn about Joshua in their Bible study time, and then spend a morning hearing from Joshua (Pastor Searcy) and march around Jericho (Lower School Playground) with the "Ark of the Covenant" and trumpets in tow.
Second grade students dress up and travel to Pioneer Village in either Dallas or Fort Worth where they learn about life in the old days and see learning from the classroom come to life. Check out some of the videos from the day on the right!
Each year. second grade students visit Christian Community Action in Lewisville for their mission day. There they deliver their cans that they collected the weeks leading up to the visit, as well as help stock other groceries at CCA's food pantry.
