Highlights of Fifth Grade at Liberty

Special Days

Wax Museum

Fifth grade students research a famous historical character in their history class. Then, they dress up as that person and give an autobiography of him or her to parents and other Lower School students!

Field Trips

Fort Worth Zoo

Fifth grade science is a very active, hands-on year of learning about God’s creation, so it's only fitting that in the spring, students enjoy a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. In the classroom, students learn about habitats and endangered species, then visit these things at the zoo!

Fifth Grade Electives

Musical Theatre

Fifth graders may choose musical theatre as an elective. The musical theatre group performs twice during the school year.

Robotics/GRID Lab

The Liberty Band program comprises students from 5th–12th grade. Our elementary band introduces students to traditional brass, wood winds and percussion instruments. Students learn to read music and perform at an exemplary level within this first year that culminates with a competitive season and public performances.

Fifth grade students have the opportunity to choose art as an elective that meets four days a week for 45 minutes. The expanded art time gives students the luxury of more in depth exploration and mastery of the presented material and media. Fifth grade art student are also introduced to the process of conducting positive self and peer critiques. All levels of art are taught with a Christian worldview in mind.
