The LCS library serves all Liberty students, faculty, and staff, aiming to inspire and encourage the love of reading, as well as support the curriculum at all levels.
The LCS Library is a reading and learning center for all students as well as for faculty, staff, and Liberty parents. You are welcome to come in, ask for help, inquire about our programs, or just talk about good books!
Follow the link under "Research and Study Offerings" below to visit the homepage for the Crown Awards lists and related reading lists.
Come on in!
Visit the Liberty library this fall to see our many new books, get acquainted, and find out about our reading programs.
The library’s extensive picture book, juvenile fiction, and non-fiction collections are here to support our students’ classroom activities and their leisure reading. Our staff will help you find just the right book.
Our online databases are a constantly updated, reliable, “real news” resource that complements our non-fiction collection for Middle and Upper School students.
The library welcomes Mrs. Angela Doyle back on staff, upon the retirement of assistant librarian Mrs. Nancy Gundlach. Mrs. Doyle previously served as assistant librarian from 2006 to 2016.
Triple Crown Reading Programs
The library is once more sponsoring the Children’s Crown Award reading list for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
Ten recommended books are offered for students to read and enjoy, culminating in our quiz-show style competition called “Quest for the Crown,” held in March 2019. All students in these grades are encouraged to participate, although it is completely voluntary.
In addition, we will also share the 10 picture books on the Crown Gallery Award list with our kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students.
Middle School students have the option of including the 10 Lamplighter Award titles among the books they will read as part of their English/Language Arts courses this year.
Our library also offers access for parents, who will especially enjoy the library's materials on parenting and Christian living, in addition to the collection of Christian fiction and videos. Library Online Catalog and Resources
The LCS library subscribes to a variety of online databases for the use of students, faculty, staff, and parents accessible from any computer. Passwords are available to all students in grades 5 through 12 and to parents. Login to myLiberty and visit the Library Resource board for access.
We encourage students to use these resources to supplement books borrowed from the library.
