Welcome to the 2020 Liberty Christian School Graduation Ceremony! Graduates, I want to start by congratulating you on reaching this significant milestone in your lives. Graduating from Liberty Christian in a normal year is a challenging proposition for any student. Add in a pandemic, and it is truly impressive the way that you have persevered and what you have accomplished!
At this point, it would be a huge understatement to say that these are troubling times. It seems like each new day brings more and more uncertainty! All of us share in the uncertainty with questions like, “What is going to happen with COVID-19 over the next few days, weeks, months? When will this be over? When will our school open?” Some of us are facing questions like, “Will I be able to keep my job? How will I pay my bills? Will my friend/loved one recover from this virus? Will I get the virus?” These are substantial burdens that weigh heavy on our hearts, and the result can be discouragement, fear, and loss of hope.
Welcome back to the blog! I hope 2020 is off to a good start for you and your family. As I mentioned in my previous blog, I want to introduce you to an individual whom you may know by name, and I have asked her to share her heart as it relates to academics and student identity.
Leah Beard joined the Liberty Christian Family as the Vice President of Academics during the summer of 2018. Leah came to us from Keller ISD, and I have to tell you she is one of the most amazing educators that I have had the pleasure to work with. Leah is passionate about student learning, and her passion is already paying huge dividends on our campus. More importantly, Leah is passionate about Jesus! I so appreciate her commitment to Christian education, and I am honored to partner with her to continue the tradition of excellence here at Liberty Christian School. If you have not had the opportunity to meet Leah, I would strongly encourage you to do so at some point.
