Liberty Christian School is pleased to offer admissions to International Students and encourages you to share the experiences of secondary education, and life, in America. Liberty Christian values the rich diversity of culture that international students bring to our school.
Below you will find detailed information on the application and admission process. Please contact Cristy McCullough at email@example.com
if you have any questions or concerns.
Step 1: Complete and Submit Initial Documents
Required: Complete Application for Admission. Please include thoughtful answers to all written sections. Also, enclose a check for $150 for the application fee, payable to Liberty Christian School. Please include most recent transcripts in English (unofficial copies for now) going back two or three years, English Proficiency test scores (TOEFL, TOEFL Jr., ITEP, or SLEP), and copy of the student’s Passport. Optional/Recommended: Photos, Letters of Recommendation, and English writing sample.
Step 2: Interview with International Admissions Committee
The interview is your opportunity to share with us your thoughts and questions about attending Liberty Christian School. We want to get to know you as well as you get to know us during this time. This is meant to be casual, so relax and share with us your ideas and concerns. The interview will be conducted if possible, in person or using Skype or WeChat.
Step 3: Decision
If the student is accepted the Director of International Student Program will forward a Letter of Acceptance to the applicant or applicant’s agency.
Step 4: Payment and Issue of I-20
Upon receipt of payment of all tuition and fees for the school year, the Director of International Student Program will release a copy of the students I-20 to either the student or his/her recruiting agency. The I-20 allows the student to initiate the process of application for their student Visa. (Note: Tuition and fees does not include agency or homestay fees)
Step 5: Completion of Remaining School Documents
It is critical that the student’s final documents be received by Liberty Christian School. These documents include the Parent and Student Contract with attached Power of Attorney (signed by both parents and Power of Attorney properly notarized) and the Liberty Christian School Vaccination Form (use only this form, it must be completed, signed by a physician, and stamped with a seal by the doctor’s office). It is critical that the student’s agency and parents follow instructions for the proper submission of these documents.
Step 6: Student Arrival
Students should plan on arriving at least two weeks prior to the start of classes. There are many details that will need to be addressed.
- Student should immediately go to a physician to have a TB Blood Test. The blood test will show if the TB virus is dormant or active. The results may take up to a week to return from a lab. If you would rather have a TB Skin Test, you must have the test administered and read at a County Department of Public Health.
- Liberty Christian School students wear uniforms. After you have turned in the results of your TB Test to the nurse you may go to the Liberty Locker, Liberty's on campus store, to be fitted and purchase uniforms.
- You will be able to see what school supplies you will need online for each class. This is an ideal time to prepare for your first day of classes.
- There is a 13-hour time difference between China and Texas. You will want to be wide awake for the start of classes and recovering from jet lag can take up to a week. Please arrive at least two weeks prior to the start of classes, you will be glad you did.
