Liberty Learning Center

The Liberty Learning Center provides services to students in kindergarten to 5th grade who have diagnosed learning differences. While promoting the Warrior Way Values, the mission of the Liberty Learning Center is to empower students with strategies and skills to overcome learning differences to achieve academic success.

The Learning Center offers a continuum of services:
  • Classroom Accommodations (Accommodations will be determined by the Student Assistance team as recommended by diagnostic evaluations.)
  • Access to the Testing Center (2nd – 5th grade students may receive a quiet setting and accommodations as determined by the Student Assistance Team.)

  • Dyslexia Intervention utilizes the Barton Reading and Spelling Systems (Four, 45-minute sessions weekly in a small group setting: Orton-Gillingham system for students with dyslexia or a learning disability in reading provides systematic, explicit, and intensive instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.)
  • Reading Intervention utilizes the Teach Your Children to Read Well Curriculum (Four, 45- to 60-minute sessions weekly in a small group setting: Phonics-based series combines direct instruction, precision teaching, and behavior management, and provides intense instruction in phonics, reading comprehension, and fluency.)
Partnering with parents, administrators, and classroom teachers, the Student Assistant Team develops an individualized plan that addresses the academic, behavioral, and/or social needs of each student.

Learning Center teachers collaborate with classroom teachers and parents throughout the school year to adjust the plan as needed. Teachers seek to understand their students and the way in which they learn. They joyfully anticipate guiding students to become successful lifelong learners.
