Liberty Connect

The K–5th grade curriculum is taught with a biblical worldview through Liberty University Online Academy (LUOA), an accredited program and online learning solution provider. Instruction will come from LUOA Christian teachers.

• Learning is 100% online
• LUOA curriculum program provides lessons that include a combination of teacher-led videos, instructional online modules, and independent study
• Students will receive a Liberty-issued device and are required to do all school work on their Liberty-issued device.
• Students are encouraged to optionally attend on-campus chapel.
• K-5th grade is year-long commitment with an option for moving to full-time in-person learning that will vary on an individual basis.
• A Liberty Advocate Teacher will do periodic check-ins to make sure that there are no problems and to help answer any questions.
• The program will be most effective if supported by a parent, guardian, or another adult and is designed to be a partnership between Liberty and families.
• Students may participate in Liberty Youth Athletics (LYA) offerings.
• For on-campus activities, students must follow all applicable guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook.

The 6–12th grade curriculum is taught with a biblical worldview through Ethos, an accredited program. Instruction will come from Ethos Christian teachers.

• Learning is 100% online.
• Ethos curriculum program provides  lessons that are both asynchronous (independent, self-paced) and synchronous (live, scheduled time) with a combination of teacher-led videos, instructional online modules, hands-on learning activities, and independent study.
• Students will receive a Liberty-issued device and are required to do all school work on their Liberty-issued device.
• A Liberty staff member will be available to students and will monitor and support progress, and assist with any issues with the online provider.
• Students are encouraged to optionally attend on-campus chapel.
• Students have access to Spiritual Life and Student Life experiences, and are encouraged to stay connected and engaged by attending Liberty events.
• 6-8th grade is year-long commitment with an option for moving to full-time in-person learning that will vary on an individual basis.
• For on-campus activities, students must follow all applicable guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook.
• 9th-12th Grade Considerations:
  • 9th-12th grade is a year-long commitment with no option for moving to full-time in-person leaning. Students with documented medical circumstances may request a transfer to Liberty Connect Online Only (preferred at semester). Submission of a physician's recommendation is required.
  • 9th-12th grade students may choose to participate in Week Without Walls.
  • For 9th-12th grade, if a course is not available through Ethos, a course will be provided through a current online course provider.
  • AP and Dual Credit courses are available in-person or online. 
    • Dual credit options are through Ethos, Tarrant County College (TCC), or North Central Texas College (NCTC) and applicable fees and prerequisites may apply.
  • Honors and AP courses through Ethos will count toward College Prep with Honor requirements for graduation.
  • Students enrolled in Liberty Connect programs are not eligible for Top 10% ranking or Valedictorian or Salutatorian honors.
  • Liberty academic advisors will help ensure transcripts, eligibility, and graduation requirements align with college and NCAA expectations.

Liberty Connect Online Plus students are online for most classes with the option to take up to two in-person classes on campus at Liberty Christian School for additional fees.

• A Liberty staff member will be available to students and will monitor and support progress, and assist with any issues with the online provider.
• Students will receive a Liberty-issued device and are required to do all school work on their Liberty-issued device.
• Students are required to come to campus and take all midterms and finals in-person for online and in-person classes.
• For 6th-8th, Fine Arts may be chosen as an on-campus course. Participation requires attendance to all class/team obligations. Tryouts may be required for placement in a class.
• Students are required to attend on-campus chapel
• Students have access to Spiritual Life and Student Life experiences and are encouraged to stay connected and engaged by attending Liberty events.

• 9th-12th grade students may not choose in-person courses that have TAPPS competitions as part of their requirements.

• Liberty academic advisors will help ensure transcripts, eligibility, and graduation requirements align with college and NCAA expectations.
• Honors and AP courses through Ethos will count toward College Prep with Honor requirements for graduation.
• AP and Dual Credit courses are available in-person or online. 
  • Dual credit options are through Ethos, Tarrant County College (TCC), or North Central Texas College (NCTC) and applicable fees and prerequisites may apply.

• Students who are enrolled in the Liberty Hybrid program are eligible for early graduation as long as they have met with academic advising, meet all of the policies on the graduation contract, and have a plan that meets all graduation requirements.
