 The Liberty Technology Department holds responsibility for all of the computers, phones, printers and copiers for the school. As well, we maintain a network that contains miles of computer cable and fiber optic lines plus over 40 wireless radios.
As of the start of the 09-10 school year, we had 473 computers, 11 computer labs (including 4 mobile labs of totaling 75 laptop computers) and complete wireless network coverage in every classroom on campus. Our client workstations run either Windows XP or Windows Vista and we use Office 2007 for all documents. New for the 2008-09 school year, we built a Music Lab that enables our Lower School students to learn to play the piano through interactive software. The system also allows the teacher to lecture to all students through the headsets or to listen and talk to just one or a few students. The students are very excited to be able to use the computer in music class! Technology Did You Know…?Did you know?- We have over 650 devices on our network, consisting of computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines, wireless access points, switches, a firewall, a unit to control our air conditioning system through the web and more.
- We have a full fiber optic backbone, including fiber optic cables to the football concessions and press box, as well as the Integrity Park baseball fields.
- From one end of our network to the other measures over three quarters of a mile.
- We have guest access to the Internet through our wireless network called “LCS Guest”
- We have 12 servers that handle our e-mail and web serving, database, file storage, back up, remote access, voicemail system, etc.
- We have mostly Cisco and HP Procurve switches throughout our network.
- We have over 15 Terabytes of storage on our servers (15,000 gigabytes)
- We have eight student computer labs, including three in the Upper School, one in the Middle School, One in Fine Arts (Music), one in Lower School, one in ECE, and 4 mobile labs: one for ATS classes, one for Dual Credit Classes, one for our 6th Grade English classes and one that can be checked out by any class.
