Liberty Christian School originated in 1980 from the prayer and vision of Liberty Church of Denton, Texas. It began as a one-room learning center under the direction and leadership of Reverend and Mrs. Gary Adams. The school was small in size (twenty students in all), but the all-important goal of a quality education in a Christian environment was established and implemented.
In 1983, Reverend Adams met Mr. Rodney Haire, who felt inspired by the Lord to enter the field of Christian education. Agreeing that the school would reach out to Christians of all denominations, Reverend Adams and Mr. Haire united to expand the school with the purpose of offering a quality college preparatory education in a Christian environment. The student body grew that year from 20 to 194, a new facility was purchased, a student council was formed, athletic teams and bands were started to provide unity and school spirit - and Liberty Christian School became a phenomenon! Today Liberty Christian’s student enrollment has reached over 1,200 with a staff of over 170. God’s plan for an expanded college preparatory school in a Christian environment is surging ahead, being fulfilled. In the summer of 2005, the school moved from 1500 South Bonnie Brae in Denton, TX to new facilities at 1301 S. Highway 377, Argyle, TX 76226. By mutual agreement, the school and the church separated in a friendly manner in 1989. The school continues to reach out to Christian families of all denominations and to emphasize the teaching of Bible truths as related to all facets of life. It is our desire to help develop well-adjusted young people who will be the leaders of tomorrow; individuals who will be equipped to face life, make the right decisions, and then stand by them. We believe that this can be accomplished by grounding them in and guiding them by the Word of God, while offering the best education possible.
