Fines are not charged to students in kindergarten through second grade.

Two items for 2nd grade
Four items for grades 3-4
Six items for grades 5-12 (no more than two videos, please).
Students below 2nd grade keep all borrowed materials in their classrooms and are limited to one item at a time.

Online Research Resources

   The LCS Library subscribes to a variety of online databases for the use of students, faculty, staff, and parents. These are available both on the library's computers and through your own computers at home. Links and passwords will be supplied to all students in grades 5 through 12 and to parents upon request.

  The databases include:

1.     The Thomson Gale array of magazine, newspaper, and other printed articles covering current events, social sciences, science, literature, and general cultural topics. There is also a database of articles in Spanish and one for students in Lower School;

2.     The Facts on File series of 12 document databases covering history and science, as well as a wide array of the Bloom’s literary criticism works (new this fall!);

3.     The Encyclopaedia Britannica "family" of encyclopedias, comprising four separate encyclopedias with content serving students from early childhood through adult age.

Please contact the library to receive access information for these databases.  We encourage students to use these resources to supplement books borrowed from the library.

Family Resources

We have many family-appropriate video items for parents to check out – Bible videos, children’s movies, historical documentaries, and classic favorites (including all episodes of The Twilight Zone!).  We also have a Parents’ Collection that features older and current books on child development and child-rearing issues.  And, we have in our fiction shelves a goodly number of Christian and secular writings for the parent who would like to read romance, adventure, and classic books.  Come and “check us out”.
